303: Excellent free machining characteristics suited for automatic screw machines. Type 303 has a machinability rated at approximately 60% compared to C-1212 Carbon Steel rated 100%.
304: General Purpose Alloy – High resistance to corrosion.Welds, forms – suitable for restaurant equipment. Type 304 is recommended for welded construction of lighter sections where annealing is not practical.
304 L: Same as 304 – except lower carbon.
316: One of the highest corrosion resistant alloys, forms and welds; suitable for chemical tanks, photographic processing equipment.
